Racehorse Doping On Big Scale?
SYDNEY, Mon. (11.30 a.m.).—Detectives of the Crimihal Investigation Branch have been investigating the activities of what is said to be the largest racehorse doping ring ever discovered in Australian turf history., but_ no public statement has been made.
Police sources state that last week detectives went aboard y a ship and brougnt ashore a’ man.
It is believed that this man not only involved himself but named others, including two chenhsis, a wellknown Sydney professional man, and stable hands in Sydney, Brisbane and Meibouriie.

The police inquiries took a dramatic turn with the discovery that the central figure in the alleged conspiracy has left Australia by air. * The police believe that the man, who was taken off a ship bound for South Africa, is now on his way to Britain.
H.e was previously employed in a hotel as an unskilled worker, but is understood to have accumulated considerable wealth as a result of certain turf transactions.

The secretary ol the Australian Jockey Club (Mr W N.
