Light Penalty For False Declaration
Adjourned for a month for develop-, ments, a case in which a young man was charged with having wilfully made a false declaration for insertion in the marriage register that a 16-year-old girl was 21 years of age was again called in the Whangarei Court today. 1 The accused was Bob Tahitahi, 23, who was convicted and ordered to pay 10/- costs after the Maoi’i welfai'e officer (Mrs Maihi) had reported that the man and his young wife were living happily and the girl’s parents had become reconciled.
