National Orchestra Visit Northland

WELLINGTON, Mon. (P.A.)—The National Orchestra of the New Zealand Broadcasting Service will begin a comprehensive tour of the Dominion in July, said the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting (Mr Jones) today. The North Island itinerary will be Ne.v Plymouth, Hawera, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Hastings, Napier, Gisborne, Hamilton and Auckland. There will be free concerts for school children in provincial centres. It is intended that the orchestra will leave for the South Island early in September and cover all the main cities and provincial towns. The itinerary has yet to be arranged. The orchestra will later visit Northland and Rotorua.
