A farmer, Mr B. H. Smith, of Waimata, Poverty Bay, was hit in the neck by a shotgun pellet as he was driving cattle on the Waimata Road at six o’clock yesterday morning. The pellet penetrated two thicknesses of oilskin coat and buried itself half an inch in his neck. The police are inquiring into the incident. .
