WELLINGTON, Tue (P.A.)—A plea of guilty to a charge of attempting to defraud a Hawera taxi-driver on January 23, 1948, in that he obtained £7 by false pretences was entered in the Magistrate’s Court today by Chedebor David, Sundc, alia Chcdu Sunde, 22. The'magistrate (Mr J S. Hanna) admitted accused to probation for a year on condition that he repay the money before May 31. It was stated by the police that accused, after the otl'ence, bad left Auckland by a ship for Yug v,lc ia and recently returned to N[ew Zealand from Britain.
