WELLINGTON, Wed., (P.A.).—“Disappointing” was the description applied to "the Labour Party' conference decision on conscription in a statement issued today by the New Zealand Peace and Anti-Conscription Federation,

Reaffirming its ‘‘uncompromising objection” to a referendum on conscription, the federation’s statement said it did so on the grounds that persons not 18, but who would be affected by the result of the referendum, would not be entitled to vote. , .

The statement added that it was hoped to arrange a deputation tomorrow to the Minister of Education (Mr McCombs) protesting against military training in schools, as it regarded it as a form of conscription of children.
