Killed By Lightning Inside Tunnel
LONDON. Mon. (1 p.m.)— One man was killed and 16 injured, 10 seriously, when lightning today set off explosives in Western Clucie tunnel (Pitlochry), part of the big North Scotland power scheme.
Working from both sides, teams of men have been cutting a three and a half mile tunnel through the hillside to divert the river waters through to a new hydroelectric plant. The men were working about a mile inside the tunnel, but the lightning ran along the tracks of a miniature railway.
