While having not the slightest sympathy with any man who is ass enough to have illegal weapons in his possession, I was inARMS terested to read of SENTENCES. the penalties meted i out to two men in this district.
Can you inform me—and possibly hundreds of others—how it is that the S.M. will fine a man two or three pounds and tell him there is nothing to be ashamed of for possessing a private arsenal of illegal weapons and ammunition, while two J.P.s will sentence a man to three weeks’ gaol for being in possession of one illegal pistol and no ammunition?—“NOSEY PARKER.” '
