Harris Wins 880 Heat Convincingly

LONDON, Fri. (12.30 p.m.)—The New Zealand runner, Doug Harris, won his heat of the Universities’ Athletic Union’s half-mile championship at White City, tonight. He led all the way and did not appear to be affected by the leg he injured at the Olympic Games last August. His time was 2m 3.45.

Harris will meet the Olympic quar-ter-mile champion, Arthur Wint, in th- final tomorrow.
