Little Change At London Wool Sale
LONDON, Fri. (11 a.m.)—Offerings at. today’s London wool sales amounted to 10.400 bales of which 8350 bales were from New Zealand. These included a good number of North Island clips, mostly from the Ec-t Coast and several consignments of off-sorts, scoured on growers’ account.
The committee of London woolbrokers reports the home trade was again buying heavily while Continental competition was again in evidence on a wider scale.
Prices for greasy crossbreds were generally firm on last week’s opening rates and there was an almost total clearance of clip wools.
Although the demand for scoured crossbreds was slightly weaker, the prices obtained were similar to those paid y iterday. The m'arlcet for slipes showed little change.
