Pensioners Present' Gifts To Hefners

The present president of the Wha* ngarei Women’s Institute, and the past and the present president of the Wha* rgarej branch of the Happiness Club were presented with gifts by the Whangarei Pensioners’ Association at the general meeting of the association held yesterday afternoon. Mrs Harvey Webb, president of the W. 1.. and Mrs G. H. Bartlett, immediate.past president of the Happiness, Club, were each presented with a tray and a . bouquet and'Mrs C. V. Deeming, president of tlie Happiness Club, with a bouquet. The president of the Pensioners’ Association (Mr F. Hirons) said the presentations were made as a mark of the esteem and great feeling of. friendship which existed between the organisations. ■

Mr R. H. Collier, secretary of the pensioners, was given a. fountain pen for the work he had done since the inception .of the. branch.
