Liverpool Reds Dislike Churchill
LONDON, Wed. (1 p.m.)—Liverpool Communists demonstrated against Mr Churchill tonight, showering leaflets among the crowd awaiting to welcome Mr Churchill and other public men, who will receive honorary degrees at Liverpool University tomorrow.
The leaflets, issued by the local Communists, said: “Liverpool University dishonours the name of science and learning when it confers an honorary degree on Churchill. "Doctor of Wars, Master of Oppression, Fellow of World Reaction—these are the degrees peace-loving people confer on him.”
