Early End To Petrol Rationina ?

WELLINGTON, Thu.. (P.A.).— The possibility of the lifting of petrol rationing was mentioned by the president (Mr W. H. Brown) to the council of the North Island Motor Union, today. He said the union had certain information which he was unable to disclose,

Reporting on a deputation to the Minister of Supply (Mr Nord meyer) he said the situation seemed to be that comrpunications had been sent to the Brtish Government and Mr Nordmeyer was awaiting a reply before he could make any decision about rationing.

The Minister was in favour ot abolition, he said, but up to now no reply had been received.. General restoration of the 10 per cent petrol reduction made last year is under consideration according to advice received from the Oil Fuel Controller (Mr G L. Laurenson) by the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce would be advised when restoration was decided on, he added.
