New Zealander Flew Plane To Palestine

LONDON, Mon. (11 aim).— A New Zealander was one of four men fined £.50 each today at Princes Risboro, Buckinghamshire, on each of two summonses in • connection with flying British Beaufighters to Palestine. The New Zealander was Brian John George Carbury, of Surrey, and the others were Oliver Armstrong, of Surrey, William Collins, of Loudon, and John Harvey, of London. Al] pleaded guilty to taking off from a British airport in contravetion of customs regulatons, but not guilty to being exporters of the aircraft. The men were alleged to have flown planes from England to Palestine by way of Corsica and Yugoslavia. Three of them got £590 each for the flight. . The fourth said he was not paid.
