Bookshop Damaged

HASTINGS, Mon. (P.A.). —Damage to the premises and stock of Mr Foster Brook, bookseller, occurred in a fire at 7.30 o’clock yesterday morning. The outbreak began among waste paper in a packing shed at the back of the premises. Although the fire was prevented by the brigade from spreading, damage amounting to several hundreds of pounds was done to stock in the shop by smoke and water. This was the third fire to have occurred within two days at the back of town buildings, all of them apparently having their origin among rubbish. The other two were reported simultaneously, one of them being in its incipient stages and the other causing damage to the Municipal Buildings.
