Onerahi Factory Has Novel Easter Egg
Whangarei is somewhat better off for Easter eggs this year than other New Zealand towns which have no confectionery factory nearby. Despite building permit hold-ups which seriously impeded production of novelty lines both for Christmas and Easter. Northland Sweets, an Onerahi firm, has manufactured a unique type of sweet for local retailers.
This is a peppermint cream sweet, dipped in chocolate, or a fondant Easter egg. This sweet, and an egg, chocolate coated and filled with marshmallow substitute, will contribute a little to the few Easter novelties available at present. Machinery for the making of conventional marshmallow eggs is in store waiting installation when the factory at Onerahi is extendedUntil this is done, novelty lines are being produced under difficult conditions.
