NO LIQUOR YET AT CHATEAU, WAITOMO

WELLINGTON. Wed. < Sp.)— Although provision was made for tourist house licences by the Licensing Amendment Act passed by Parliament at liie c-nd ol' last session, liquor will not be served at two of the most popular resorts in the North Island, the Chateau Tongariro and the Wailomo Caves Hotel, during the coming holiday season.

The general manager of the Tourist Department (Mr L. J. Schmitt, of Wellington) said last night that the department would have to wait until the Licensing Control Commission was established before making application for tourist house licences.

He said the department desired to obtain licences for its establishments at Waikaremoana. Wailomo. the Chateau and the Milford Sounds.
