Big Improvements For Okaihau OHS
Considerable improvements are to be effected at the Okaihau District High School where work has been severely hampered by the lack of accommodation.
Advice has been received from the Education Department that plans are being prepared for the erection of two new classrooms, a new laboratory and laboratory preparation room, and a staff room.
Since its inception, the secondary department of the school had operated under adverse conditions, said tire secretary of the school committee (Mr E. N. Nelson) yesterday. Four forms had been taught in a room intended for only one class, and two teachers had worked under extremely trying conditions. The committee proposed to carry out a comprehensive plan of ground improvements coordinating the whole layout of old and new buildings and grounds.
