Kamo School Not Reopened

Although the three-day period dura ing which a schol committee may keep a school under its charge closed has elapsed, the Kamo School Committee is not reopening the Kamo School tomorrow.

Both the Ngararatunua and Kamo Schools were closed last Monday morning following the death of a child from poliomyelitis at Kamo. “We are not reopening the school tomorrow,” said the chairman of the Kamo School Committee (Mr Gordon Elliott) this afternoon.

."My committee has been in touch with the Auckland Education Board and we are awaiting a ruling from the department or from the Minister of Health (Miss Howard) as to what is to happen. ■“I could not say when the school will be reopened.”
