Great Welcome At Command Show

LONDON, Mon. (2 p.m.)— Despite thick fog and bitter cold, thousands of London’s ’teen-agers gave the Queen, Princess Margaret, the Duke of Edinburgh and a galaxy of British and American film stars, a great welcome when they arrived at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square, for the Royal Command film show: “Scott of the Antarctic.” The doors of the theatre were closed 10 minutes before the arrival of the Royal party. Hundreds of late-comers in evening dress, with 15gn and 20gn tickets, were forced to queue outside until after the Queen entered. Some of the huge crowd had waited in the Square since early morning. When the Royal party took their places in the Royal box. a burst of applause seemed to indicate that the 5000 present were trying to express sympathy with the Queen in His Majesty’s illness.
