More than 100 of these British tankers are owned by a subsidiary of the Anglo-Aranian Oil Company the British Tanker Company Limited. The war took heavy toll but today the British Tanker Company has replaced all its war losses and is now 300,000 tons ahead of its pre-war capacity, with 45 tankers still on order.
