Reservicing Of Territorial Planes

'*•' PAHIATUA, ,Thu. (P.A.) —A scheme to overcome the main problem retarding the initial development of the Territorial Air Force in New Zealand—that of reservicing the aircraft available—was outlined by the Dominion president of the Air Force Association (Mr R. J. Sinclair) at the annual meeting of the Manawatu branch last night. The two main problems to be faced by the Air Department in the commencement of the scheme, he said, were the small number of aircraft available and the lack of ground staff to overhaul the machines. His suggestion was to create interest among ex-ground staff personnel by offering suitable inducements to spend a fortnight at RNZAF stations where aircraft were stored.

The men would go to camp in a civil capacity, and assist in preparation of the aircraft for operations. The types of aircraft available were Oxfords. Harvards and Tiger Moths.
