Renown Cool Mine Was Idle Yesterday

HUNTLY, Tue. (Sp.)— I The Renown coal mine was idle yesterday as a result of prolonged discussions by the men, which did not conclude until about 11 o'clock. A meeting at the Alison mine lasted until 10.30, after which only two pairs of miners and a few truckers and shiftmen entered the mine for work. The other mines in the district also held meetings, that at Glen Afton lasting until 8.55 a.m. and that at , Rotowaro until 8.45 a.m. Miners at Pukemiro and MacDonald held only short discussions. All these mines worked yesterday. It is understood the meetings were held to receive reports of Sunday's mass meeting from union delegates.
