North Children For Waitangi

WELLINGTON, Sat. (Sp.) .—The Minister of Education (Mr McCombs) has given a sympathetic reception to a request put forward by the Mangonui County clerk (Mr A. J. Mackintosh) and submitted to him by the member for Hobson (Mr S. G. Smith). The suggestion was that the Education Department make arrangements for school children in the north to be present at the visit of the Royal Family to the Bay of Islands next year. “I shall be pleased to give consideration to your representations,” replied the Minister, “with a view to seeing what arrangements can be made for travelling and catering, and will write you again.”
