Drive Against Burmese Communist’s
RANGOON, Fri. (2.30 p.m.)—An official communique announced that Burma Government troops increased action against Communists with a ccmb-out in the Pegu district, which resulted in 46 arrests, says the Associated Press correspondent. It is reported that a large number of Communists were also captured in the Lower Chindwin district. All British families have been evacuated from the Mawchi Mines area, in north-eastern Karenni, in view of a Karenni Government announcement that a full-scale drive would be made against the insurgents.
