Industrialisation Of South Africa
CAPETOWN, Fri. (1.30 p.m.).— South Africa’s industrialisation would not be proceeded with, said the Native Affairs Minister (Mr Jansen), in Parliament, if it meant engulfing South Africa’s European cities with African labourers. Extension of the franchise to nonEuropean individuals, merely because they attained higher education than their compatriots, would be unjust to them and their people. The European community could not yet assimilate them.
