PUBLIC NOTICES BAY OF ISLAND ELECTRICPOWER BOARD RENEWAL LOAN (No. 1) 1948 OF £27,000 NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER OUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given 1 that the following resolution passed at a meeting of the Bay of islands Electric-Pov/er Board held on Wednesday, the 4th day of August, 1948, and intended to .operate as a SPECIAL ORDER, will come before the Board for confirmation at a meeting to be held on Wednesday, the Ist day of September, 1948, at 10 a.m. at the Board’s Offices. Broadway, Kaikohe. RESOLUTION: THAT the Bay of Islands ElectricPower Board, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926. and all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve to raise by way of Special Order a Special Loan of £27,000 (Twenty-seven thousand pounds! to be known as the RENEWAL LOAN (No. 1) 1948 £27,000, in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of redeeming at maturity the outstanding liability in respect of a portion, namely. £40,000 of the Special Loan, 1948. of £200,000.

THAT for the purpose of security the payment of the interest and principal of the said Special Loan, a special annually recurring rate of 34/100ths d. (thirty-four one-hundredths of one penny) in the £ will be made and levied upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Bay of Islands Electric-Power District. THAT the term for which the said Special Loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 15 (Fifteen) years. THAT the interest on the said Special Loan shall be payable at a rate not exceeding £3/5/- (Three pounds five shillings) per centum per annum. THAT the said Special Loan or any part thereof, together with interest : thereon, shall be repaid by half-yearly instalments extending over the term of the Loan. j THAT the payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalments shall be paid out of Loan Money. THAT the rate payable for brokerage, underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said Special Loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised. PURSUANT to Section 17 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Board proposes to raise the Loan by SPECIAL ORDER, and public notification is hereby given that a Poll of Ratepayers is required if not less than 5 per cent (five per centum) of the I Ratepayers in the Bay of Islands I Electric-Power District so demand by 1 writing under their hands delivered or jsent by post to the Bay of Islands ! Electric-Power Board at any time i before the Ist day of September, 1948.. | A certified copy of the above resoluI tion is deposited at the Public Office of the Board, Broadway, Kaikohe, and at the Office of the Local Authority of each constituent district situated within the Bay of Islands Electric-Power District, and. is open to the inspection of the Public for a period of twentyone days immediately preceding the Ist day of September, 1948.
