WELLINGTON, Thu. (P.A.). —A case, of poliomyelitis, a twelve-year-old. girl from a private school in Lower j Hutt, was reported by the health au-' thorities today. A warning that children from | schools closed on account of poliomy-1 elitis should not travel was issued by the district medical officer of health | (Dr Hubert Smith). ' He cited an instance of a six-year-old boy from a closed school in Lower j, Hutt, who travelled to Auckland, fell | ill there, and was diagnosed as a pcs- j itive case.
Two suspect cases of paralysis were reported in the Central Auckland health district yesterday. One is a boy aged seven from Tuakau, who was admitted to hospital yesterday, and the other is a seven-year-old girl from Remuera, who was admitted on Tuesday. i There were 51 positive cases and five suspects in the Auckland Hospital yesterday. \ No further cases have been reported in the South Auckland health district. The male, aged 20, from Frank- i ton, who was reported as a suspect case on Sunday has now been diag- : nosed as negative.
