Threw Stones At Duchess Of Kent's Car
LONDON, Thu. (10.30 a.m.).—-A young man hurled two stones at the Duchess of Kent’s car shortly after she arrived at Brighton to open an exhibition dealing with the Regency Period.
The Duchess, her lady in waiting, and her woman secretary had left the car a few minutes earlier. They toured the exhibition unaware what had happened. The stones cracked the windscreen and dented the car bonnet. Police arrested a man who is believed to be an ex-serviceman with a pension grievance.
