Tramwaypen Sing As March To fork
DUNEDIN, Sat. (P.A.).—Tramwaymen sang as they marched back to work at noon today after hearing the decision of a special dispute’s committee appointed by direction of the Minister of Labour (Mr McLagan) under the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations, 1939. The decision, which was made by the chairman after the committee failed to agree, ruled that the moneys in dispute be handed to the chairman, who will forthwith pay them to the District Public Trustee who will hold them until the result of the June 9 hearing enables him to disburse the ■funds in accordance with the decision of the national tribunal. NORMAL WORK The decision also ruled that normal work be resumed under the conditions of clause 25 (2) and that no disciplinary action whatsoever be taken by the employer against the workers involved in the dispute. The chairman of the committee was Mr W. H. Cadwallader, district superintendent of the Department of Labour and Employment. The strike began at 2 p.m. last Mo iday. (Earlier Story Page 6)
