Alaskan Schooner Crushed In Ice
NEW YORK, Thur. (Noon).—A fishing schooner, with 13 persons aboard, radioed an S.C.S. message to Kodiak (Alaska) today, saying she was being crushed by ice in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Coastguard officials believe she is the 119-foot schooner Tootsie.
A coastguard cutter was dispatched to the scene, but is not expected to arrive until tomorrow.
A plane from Fort Randall has been sent to try and locate the schooner.
