Man Who Hit* ' Mother Gaoled
GISBORNE, Wed. (P.A.)—“lt is a shocking slate of affairs when a son attacks his mother,” said the magistrate (Mr E. L. Walton) in the Police Court today, in sentencing Elmore Cuthbert Verry to one month’s imprisonment.
Accused pleaded guilty to assaulting his 64-year-old mother.
According to the police, accused came home under the influence of drink and, following an argument, struck his mother, who was admitted to hospital suffering from shock, bruises, two black eyes and abrasions.
