Workers Ban Week-end Burials

SYDNEY, Fri. U 0.30 p.m.)—The latest reaction to the 40-hour week is that of undertakers’ assistants and cemetery employees.

They have carried a resolution banning burials between 3.45 p.m. on Fridays and 9.30 p.m. on Mondays

The decision was made after consideration of the refusal of the Industrial Commission to grant the union’s application for a Monday-to-Friday week. The decision was made against the advice of the executive, which suggested further negotiations with the employers.
