Auckland Colts
HAMILTON, Thu. (Sp.)—The Auckland Colts' cricket team was in a good position in the final match of its North Island tour against Waikato when stumps were drawn yesterday at the end of the first day’s play. The Colts’ captain, A. J. Postles, sent Waikato in on winning the toss and the home side was dismissed for .190 runs (Fisher 59, Higginson 32; Hayes 5 for 53, Hollywood 3 for 67). At stumps the Colts had scored 106 for the loss of six wickets (Worrall 57 not out).
