THEFT

WELLINGTON. A confession that he appropriated I-lutt Valley Returned Services Association funds amounting to £778 in an effort to recoup losses by backing racehorses was made by Jack Raymond Kirkpatrick, clerk, former secretary of the association, when he appeared in the Magistrate's Court tat Lower Hutt. Kirkpatrick pleaded guilty to three charges of having received money on terms requiring him to account for or pay jt to the association and fraudulently omitting to do so.
