Turf Experts Note On 'Horse Of The Year'

NEW YORK, Fri. (1 p.m.)—The gelding Armed, despite the fact that he was dethroned by Stymie as the world's leading money winning thoroughbred, has been voted the "horse of the year” in the first of two major polls among turf experts. Armed drew 25 of 28 ballots cast by staff members of Triangle Racing Publications. Two voted for Assault, last year’s choice, while Stymie was named on only one ballot.

Armed, for the second successive year, also led in the handicap division.
