Deserter Gaoled
WELLINGTON, Tue. (P.A.)—Pleading guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to a charge of deserting from the Orari at Wellington on November 20. James Crawford Jarvie, 23, ship's greaser, was sentenced to one month’s imprisoment by Mr A. M. Goulding, S.M.
When asked for an explanation Jarvie said he was intending to gel married shortly to a New Zealand girl.
