Destroyer Rammed By Motorship

SYDNEY. Mon. (11.30 a.m.).—As the British motorship King Stephen moved slowly down harbour last night, a defect occurred in the steering gear which caused her to swing out of control and. ram the destroyer Quiberon amidships.

The freighter was only slightly damaged, but plates in the destroyer were buckled and she began to leak. The impact threw dozens of sailors from their hammocks aboard QulUeron which was lying at moorings. Divers inspected the damaged destroyer today and she will go into dock.

The freighter continued her volage.
