GISBORNE, Mon (P.A.).—A police search proceeded all the week-end for a mail bag containing a sum of money which disappeared on Friday between Te Puia Springs, where it was loaded on to a truck, and Waipiro Bay. on the East Coast.

The bag contained only a few letters, among which was a large envelope containing the wages of the Waipiro Bay maternity hospital staff.

The drivers and mail transferred at the meeting place between the north and southbound trucks near Waipiro, where the bag was found to be missing on arrival of the truck.
