European Coal Output Rises

LONDON, Sun. (11 a.m.) —Provisional figures issued by the European Coal Organisation show a sharp rise in European coal production. Figures for October and September, in that order, are: Ruhr and Aachen, 6,580,000 metric tons; 6,263.000. Saar. 1,025.000, 953,000. Poland, 5,760,000, 5,367,000. France, 4,621,00, 3,982,000. Belgium, 2.130,000, 2,006,000. Holland, 922,000, 898,000. The United Kingdom exported 50,000 tons, compared with 76.000. in September, but the United States, Western Germany and Poland recorded increased exports.

France reached 119 per cent, and Poland 113 per cent, of the average pre-war output.
