Yarding® at the Kamo fixtures were smaller than usual but the inquiry for most classes of stock remained strong and the market was firm. Quotations were: Best dairy cows, close lo profit. £l(i/17/(i to £l2; backward. £9 to £9/17/0; cows and calves, £9 to £l2/7/6; lat Jersey cows. £B/15/-; forward Jersey cows, £5/5/- to £G; 3-year coloured steers, £9/4/-: 1 and 2-year coloured steers. £5/12/- to £6/15/-; yearling heifers, £4/10/- to £7/5/-; heavy prime baeoners. £6/6/- to £6/10/6; medium, £5/12/6 to £6/5/-; heavy porkers and light baeoners. £5/5/- to £5/12/-; good stores, £4/7/- to £5/2/-; medium stores. £4 to £4/7/-; slips. £3/15/-: best weaners. £2/5/- to £3; others, £l/10/- to £2. Alfred Buekland and Sons Ltd-and Walter Wakeiin Ltd conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr R. C. Morrison. Portland. The dairy cattle came forward in excellent condition and sold under spirited competition to a large attendance. The top price was £27, paid for a Jersey cow in milk, while the herd averaged £lB/6/-. The heifer calves averaged £5/5/- and very backward 2-vear Jersey heifers £9/15/-. MIDDLE NORTH In the Middle North, the North Auckland Farmers’ Coop. Ltd and Dalgetv and Co. Ltd operated at. Ohacawai. where a moderate yarding of all classes of stock met keen competition. Pigs sold particularly well. Quotations were: Best dairy cows, £B/IC/- to £ll/5/-; best dairy heifers. £7/2/6 to £9/12/6; fat bullocks, to £22/12/6: fat cows. £ll to £l4/5/-: fresh conditioned cows, £7/10/- to £B/5/-;
