Army, Air Force Appointment's

. LONDON, Sun. (11.30 a.m.).—The Air Ministry announced that Air ViceMarshal G. A. H. Pidcock has been appointed Director-General of Armament at the Air Ministry. As Director of Armament Development from 1942 to 1944 he was connected with the introduction to the Royal Air Force of a number of new weapons including rocket projectiles. Major-General G. W. R. Templer, Director of Military Intelligence since 1946, has been appointed Vice-Chief of the Imperial General Staff', succeeding Lieut.-General Sir Frank Simpson, who has been appointed Commander-in-Chief Western Command. Lieut.-General Sir Richard McCreery, Commander-in-Chief BAOR since 1946, has been appointed British Army representative on the United Nations Military Staff Committee.

Lieut.-General Sir Brian Horrocks, who has been Commander-in-Chief Western Command since February, has been appointed Commander-in-Chief BAOR, succeeding General McCreery.
