Stud AA Bulls For Northland
Impetus will be given io the growing popularity of the Aberdeen Angus breed in Northland by recent purchases made by Northland beef breeders at the annual bull sale of the New Zealand Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association at Dannevirke last week. Several promising young bulls were secured by Northland farmers, three of the animals running into three-fig-ure purchase prices. For the well-known Motatau breeder, Mr 11. V. Kay. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd. secured the yearling Everest of Mangatoro for I6ogn, and for Mr H. Rcnwick. of Kaikohe. the same firm purchased the two-year-olds. Canute of Te Aratipi and Duke of Tautane. for 120gn and 130gn respectively. For 80gn a yearling. Dean of Otawhao, was acquired for Mr H. McKenzie. of Kaikohe. The champion and top-priced bull of the sale, Beauford of Mangatoro, was sold for 700gn to a New South Wales breeder.
