SEEDS—Grass and Clover —Certified and Pasture—for 1948 Sowing. All railage paid to every station. SACKS —We buy all grades and pay 15/per dozen for Ist grade Supherphosphates. Other grades highest prices according to quality. POTATOES & Grain Orders now being accepted for early delivery from 1948 crops. On account of restricted planting, due to heavy costs and labour scarcity, potatoes will be in short supply, and we recommend early ordering for supply from DecemberJanuary crops. Our price for early delivery, 25/- per sack. We advise ordering the year’s supply of potatoes from main crop digging in March. We anticipate harvesting and machine dressing only 2000 acres of seed this incoming season —less than half of previous season. Our methods of harvesting are recognised as most progressive and economical adopted in North Island—hence our prices being so much cheaper than seeds harvested off smaller areas. Seeds which readily and easily machine dress to the Government purity standard of 96 per cent are entered for Government Certification. Many Ryegrass pastures, however, which contained mixed pasture seeds such as Crested Dogstail, Cocksfoot, Chewings Fescue, Western Wolths and Mixed Clovers, machine dressings of these seeds involves a big waste in valuable pasture seeds; therefore we find it more beneficial to utilise these seeds and offer them as mixed seeds, and this is why reliable seed mixtures can be purchased so much cheaper than Certified Seeds, and in many cases on account of being harvested off Old Mother Pastures the quality of the mixture is outstanding. The following MIXTURES will again be available for Spring sowing j No. 1 A.A. MIXTURE: Ideal for sowing after burning and surface sowing: 6Jd lb.
