Tough Guy' Brand Of Rugby Football
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 5. “With six wins in seven games and 146 points scored against 51, the Wallabies are the talk of the Rugby Union game,” says the Daily Mail sports editor (Geoffrey Simpson). “And let there be no mincing of words. “Their victories are not the only things being talked about. “The Wallabies are acquiring a reputation for robustness and vigour that exceeds even their widely-recognised ability in the arts of the game. “Ferhaps it is because onlookers here are not accustomed to such weighty onslaughts by their Rugby players, but wherever the Australians have played the ‘tough guy’ character of their football has been the subject of general comment.”
