Licensee Fined On Two Charges
(Special) GISBORNE, This Day. For failing to provide accommodation for travellers. Michael Hyland, proprietor of the Waiapu Hotel, Tikitiki, was fined £5 by Mr E. L. Walton. S.M., at Ruatoria. On a charge of failing to keep a proper register of hotel boarders Hyland was fined £l. The police prosecutor said a man called at the hotel at 4.45 p.m. on July 7 and asked for a night’s accommodation and was refused. The man later complained to the police.
