Cool Board Takes Oyer Colliery
(Rec. 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Joint Coal Board has assumed control of the Northern Rivers colliery, near Newcastle. The chairman of the board said this action was necessary because of the continued refusal of the owners of the mine to cooperate with the board and work the mine. It is the first coalmine the board has taken over under the powers which give the board full authority over coal production and distribution.
