Beef values advanced a further step and best prime ox beef was quoted yesterday at Z2'W- to £3 per 1001 b. Best heifer beef was quoted at £2 15/- and cow beef at £2 8/- to £2 12/-. The rise to these figures was purely a seasonal one and it is anticipated the
Fair entries of dairy cattle were reported, with a continued strong demand for good quality cows and heifers close to profit. The tops made around £l4 in some sales.
backward and inferior cattle were not wanted and realisations remained low in these sections.
Average numbers of pigs were offered, with baconcrs and porkers continuing at firm rates. Stores remained expensive and slips and weaners fetched prices on a par with recent sales.
