Bikini island Now Safe For Hymans
(10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 12. A group of scientists and naval officers just returned from Bikini report that radio-activity there has dissipated sufficiently to make the island safe for human habitation, says a message ifrom San Diego. The scientists told a Press conference that a man living on Bikini for a year would now be exposed to no more radiation than would be experienced in a single X-ray of the chest, - but, “it must be remembered that Bikini was several miles from the target area. “The sunken ships in Bikini Lagoon are still radio-active.”
