Waitangi Historical Committee Formed

The historical committee of the Waitangi National Trust Board, at its first meeting, decided upon a campaign to collect period furniture for the Treaty House, and photographic copies of early documents for exhibition in the Muniment Room.

The committee appointed by the board is composed of the following:Dr Gilbert Archey, M.A., D.Sc., Mr Johannes Anderson, F.R.S., Professor J. Rutherford, M.A., Ph.D., Mr A. T. Pycroft (ex-president Auckland Museum), Mr T. W. Reed, M.A. (Cantab.). Lieutenartt-Colonel J. C. Henare, D. 5.0., Mrs E. Buchanan, Miss K. V. Lloyd (curator), and Mr Keith Sinclair, M.A., (honorary secretary).

The committee is also desirous of extending the library at the Treaty House and has already received as gifts to the trust books dealing with the early history of the country.
